AC Milan is said to be the front runner but reports from England suggests that Coutinho’s former manager at Liverpool, Brendan Rodgers, is an admirer and that Leicester could be interested in bringing in a star player to both lift image of the club, with a signing that would be the first Brazilian player ever to play for this football club, and of course give the team more depth in offensive alternatives going into a long and challenging season.

The Brazilian attacker joined Barcelona from Liverpool back in 2018, leaving Jurgen Klopp’s project and trying out a new adventure, but this move hasn’t been up to the level of expectations for the parties involved, which resulted in a loan move to Bayern Munich, and with the Germans it was also a challenging period, though being involved in winning both the Bundesliga and the Champions League must have been a massive thrill.

During five years at Anfield, Coutinho became a fans favorite after joining from Inter in 2013 and he adapted well to the style of the Premier League and as we all remember ending in a runners-up position during the spell with Brendan Rodgers in charge for The Reds.

Coutinho is contracted to Barcelona until the summer of 2023, and latest news are that they are keen on a deal happening as soon as possible to offload players with huge salaries that are not in the future plans of manager Ronald Koeman, but suggestions are that the player could also be moving out on loan or to a joint model of a salary solution plan.

According to Mirror, Coutinho could be a target for Arsenal as well as Leicester, and that Barca must cut wages of around £160million to be able to register their new signings Aguero and Depay, who both have joined with expectations that everything will be sorted out.

We just have to wait and see for the next step in this ongoing saga about Philippe Coutinho will end, what we believe is that he will not be playing at FC Barcelona next season.
