Barcelona had a life before Lionel Messi and will have to cope with one after, but of course to see the master leave was probably not what fans were hoping for. The club must move forward anyway and to do so they need to appoint a few more captains and the fourth to be is Jordi Alba.
Alba (32) joined the club back in 2012 from Valencia and one player that stands out as a firm choice. He enjoyed a good run in the Euro’s with Spain and hopefully will be the player Ronald Koeman is looking for when he sees a leader to be running the team for him out at Camp Neu.
The season will be full of great games and the squad do have so much quality that it will be a surprise to not see them fight for all honours available also in the season coming up.Embed from Getty Images
The man who is the leader of the pack in full is Sergio Busquets and behind him they have Gerard Pique and Sergi Roberto. Now the left back Alba has got a job to and part of a captains team as that might be needed at the club with such a big and major part of the club now missing.
Alba has in total played 259 league games and last season completed 35, so his presence is always there when he is available and ready to play. He has been out with a few injuries at times and struggled with a hamstring a year back, but since been fully recoverd.
